Welcome to the AFCB!

Celebrating Over 30 Years of Community Music-Making

The Ahwatukee Foothills Concert Band is a non-profit, adult, community based concert band. We are dedicated to providing our members an opportunity for life-long musical expression, promoting music in the lives of young people and providing cultural enrichment in our community.

AFCBand Director

Erin Quintas

Erin received her bachelor’s degree in music education and master’s degree in instrumental conducting from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ. She is finishing her third year as the band director at Villago Middle School in Casa Grande, AZ. Prior to that, Erin was the Director of Bands at Basha High School in Chandler, AZ for four years. During her eight years in education, Erin has taught a variety of ensembles and courses including wind ensemble, jazz band, marching band, percussion ensemble, horn ensemble, flute choir, winter drumline, winter winds, winter color-guard, digital musicianship, AP music theory, and elementary general music. Additionally, Erin is adjunct faculty at Chandler-Gilbert Community College where she teaches french horn lessons and is the Assistant Conductor for the Community Band.

Her professional affiliations include the American Bandmasters Association, National Association for Music Education, Arizona Band and Orchestra Directors Association, Arizona Music Educators Association, National Education Association, Arizona Education Association, and Phi Mu Alpha (OAS AAS LLS).

Come to a rehearsal

The AFCB schedule closely follows the school year--August to May.  We rehearse at Kyrene Middle School, 1050 E Carver Road in Tempe.  Rehearsals are Thursdays from 7-9pm.  For more information, e-mail board@afcband.org.

Currently most of the band sections are full.  If you are interested in joining please email board@afcband.org prior to attending a rehearsal.
